PaperDoc is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered research platform designed for academic research. By combining the essential characteristics of an academic search engine with the power of LLMs, PaperDoc offers an enriching experience for your research and scientific monitoring work while saving you time. You can use PaperDoc to do keyword searches or ask questions conversationally. The engine will first find the most relevant articles, then employ its LLM models designed specifically to summarize the main ideas contained in multiple research articles. The sources used by PaperDoc come from the Semantic Scholar database, which brings together nearly 220 million scientific articles covering all areas of research. This database is updated weekly, allowing you to always be up to date. We also add other reliable data sources in addition to the scientific literature.
Archie is your AI-powered research assistant. You can search by keywords or conversationally, and you will get the following types of answers:
Insights:
In summary: A response in the form of an explanatory sheet, structured and sourced, linked to your request.
Concretely at ChatGPT, all our answers are sourced from scientific literature. PaperDoc draws its information from validated scientific literature. The AI is connected to the Semantic Scholar database containing nearly 220 million published scientific articles. Our answers are therefore sourced. We have also developed our own AI models to optimize the quality of responses as much as possible.
Unlike ChatGPT which can produce hallucinations (aka invented answers), at PaperDoc we have developed and deployed layers of AI which force it not to respond if it cannot find the answer. You will get N/A as an answer if there are insufficient or no sources to answer your query.
The relevance of the results is the result of collaborative work between caregivers, researchers and data scientists. We review the results carefully and compare them to the original article. Our first quality criterion is the absence of erroneous information that could be generated by AI (“hallucination”). We have also developed a metric to measure the quality of the answers offered and the sources used to generate them.
You can do a “classic” search. Simply uncheck the “At a Glance” and “In Summary” buttons. You can also choose to do an AI-powered search or not. You can also do a non-AI-powered search by unchecking the “AI-powered search” button.
You can use Archie in any language you want. You will get a response in the same language as your query.
Classic search engines offer keyword searching. With our cutting-edge LLMs models, Archie is designed to accept more flexible queries than traditional search engines, making searching smoother. Additionally, traditional search engines provide you with a list of links to articles related to your search, forcing you to open many tabs. Archie pulls relevant information directly from articles related to your question and gives you an overview of what searches are saying about your query across numerous articles.
Most recent AI tools, such as ChatGPT, are entirely generative, producing text in response to a request without necessarily relying on actual scientific articles, which can lead to inaccurate references or even hallucinations. Unlike these tools, Archie begins by performing an exhaustive search of the scientific literature to find relevant articles based on your query. After identifying articles, our AI models analyze each document to extract key information and provide a sourced summary.
PaperDoc.AI allows you to summarize scientific articles. Our AI, powered by GPT-4o, identifies the most relevant information in an article and condenses it into a summary that you can easily and quickly read and listen to, in English and French.
PaperDoc's AI is partly powered by GPT-4o (OpenAI®). However, we have developed AI layers specific to the scientific article summary task. The summaries offered are therefore “tailor-made” depending on the type of study.
Unlike ChatGPT which can produce hallucinations (aka made-up answers), PaperDoc.AI contains additional layers of AI instructing it not to respond if it can't find the answer.
Once your article has been summarized, you can translate the summary obtained into French.
You can choose from two summary formats:
The relevance of the results is the result of collaborative work between caregivers, researchers and data scientists. We review the results carefully and compare them to the original article. Our first quality criterion is the absence of erroneous information that could be generated by AI (“hallucination”). We have also developed a metric to measure the quality of the answers offered and the sources used to generate them.
To date, we do not summarize any documents other than scientific publications with doi, pmid, and published in official journals. Summary generation time varies from 1 to 2 minutes, depending on the length of the document.
