The story the project

PaperDoc is an application that provides artificial intelligence-based summaries of scientific articles.

"As a doctor myself, the idea for PaperDoc was born during my residency. I realized that although reading scientific articles is essential to the training and daily practice of healthcare professionals, it is largely neglected. The explanation is simple: thousands of articles are published every month in hundreds of journals. This makes it difficult and time-consuming to select the most relevant articles to read in order to update one's knowledge. It's not uncommon to hear colleagues say that they don't have the time to read articles.

I came up with the idea of an application that would select articles by theme for the reader, summarize them in a clear and visual way, encourage healthcare professionals to read as many articles as possible through a system of points and rewards, and provide a system for evaluating the methodological quality of an article and the information gained by the reader.

The aim is to provide healthcare professionals with a simple tool to keep them up to date, in a fun, motivating and time-saving way. By meeting the requirements of initial and continuing training for healthcare professionals, the application falls within the ethical and legal framework of Continuing Professional Development, to which all healthcare professionals must adhere.

PaperDoc also enables professionals in the liberal sector, who are often more isolated, to keep their knowledge up to date. The idea of targeting advertisements according to readings, so that users are always aware of new devices or drugs on the market relevant to their practices, was an obvious one. As a doctor, I have no doubt that PaperDoc meets a growing demand from healthcare professionals.

At the same time, I completed a year's Master 2 in Mathematics, Modeling and Learning at the University of Paris, during which I learned machine-learning methods and developed tools to aid therapeutic decision-making in emergency situations.

The fabulous potential offered by these methods was obvious to me: artificial intelligence must be put to work in healthcare. And as a matter of urgency! We're lagging far behind other sectors such as finance and ecology. So it's only natural that PaperDoc should want to develop innovative solutions based on these technologies.

PaperDoc was born."
